Hellogoodbye - Free Mini EP

About This Blog (Click)

Sign up for the Hellogoodbye mailing list before September 29th and get their new mini EP on release.  They're a little poppy for my taste, but I used to listen to them now and then, so i have a soft spot for 'em - and it's free, so it sounds good to me.

edit: I never received an email with the link, Just curious is anyone else had the same issue?

Barnaby Jones - Self Titled

About This Blog (Click)

Great old unrelenting thrash punk that gets in your face and never backs down.  It's sloppy but has structure, and the band certainly knows what they want.  Check it out for a trip back in time.  As always, the band accepts donations.

The Taxpayers- A Rhythm in Cages

About This Blog (Click)

If you know anything about me then you know I love loose and unhinged folkpunk bands in the vein of Andrew Jackson Jihad.  That's what The Taxpayers are all about, so check them out with my highest recommendation.  If you like it, there is always the option to donate.

Chewing on Tinfoil - Get Rich or Try Dyin'

About This Blog (Click)

Quote Unquote Records have put out a bunch of great records lately, and one of those is the often incoherent and scatterbrained ramblings of Chewing On Tinfoil.  The band has tracks of piano solos, rough streetpunk, and moments the only image that comes to mind are a couple of guys drunk off their collective asses trying to make an album.  It's a fun seventeen tracks well worth spending some time with.  If you like spending time with it that much, you can always donate.

Gorbie's Stuff - Special Request

About This Blog (Click)

So some dude got ahold me through the punk site and requested posting his stuff on here (how flattering!).  It's pretty rough - demo quality really - but there's a lot there, so cherry picking through the tracks isn't an unrealistic option.  Anyway, I'll just post his message since he sums it up pretty well:

"I've been in a band named Gorbie's Stuff. We released an album
recorded in 2005 in August. Here's the album link :

I also released an acoustic punk album in September (my name is
Nicolas Chartoire) you can find it at :

And I was in another band named Beatles II. Our album has been on the
internet since 2002. You can check it at:

Thanks for your attention !

PS : I also belong to a band named The Kuang. We are working on a new
album, putting the songs on the internet as they are recorded. Find
more about The Kuang and my other musical projects (electronic music
and so on) at

So Busy!

Sorry about the sudden drop in updates.  Between my final few months in PDP (teacher school), life (I proposed back in June, woohoo!), and writing reviews, I really don't have much time this type of thing now a days.  However, rest assured I'll do my best to keep these two blogs updated over the coming months if I find myself with a couple minutes to spare here and there!

Averman - Hide Your Girlfriends EP

About This Blog (Click)

Pretty small decent EP by fairly edgy pop-punk group Averman.  If you've never heard of the group, this serves as a pretty good intro.  Thank the good people at Round Kid Records for this one.

Arliss Nancy - Dance to Forget

About This Blog (Click)

Arliss Nancy is the latest release on Death to False Hope Records, and also likely the best to date.  The band sounds like country punks Lucero or Ben Nichols, but in an extremely original way.  In other words, they overcome the obvious comparisons and take on a life of their own.  If you like it, you can always donate.

Shining Through - Man Vs Wild

About This Blog (Click)

A second Free-P from absolutepunk.net on the same band.  Again, New Found Glory-like power-pop with a slick production value and experimental tendencies. Upon further listening, there's a definite Max Bemis quality here as well...

Shining Through - Shapeshifter EP

About This Blog (Click)

Basically what you'd expect from another absolutepunk.net Free-P.  Pretty happy pop-punk that plays it safe.  For fans of New Found Glory and the likes.
