Beer Killer - My Favorite Things

About This Blog (Click)

Although I'm not sure where these guys are from, their thick accents suggest somewhere in eastern europe - potentially Russia?  Whatever the case, Beer Killer plays a very aggressive hardcore punk style.  It's certainly not the best thing in the genre I've ever posted on this blog, but it's still commendable and will likely find an audience with those who like their punk to feature the gruffest vocals possible.  The lead vocalist almost sounds a little like a Russian Strongbad.

Black Nivea - This Time For Real

About This Blog (Click)

More German punk, but this time it's a little harder than last post.  Black Nivea walk that touchy line between punk and rock.  This Time For Real is a pretty solid outing, and while it can feel a little repetitive sometimes, their vocalist sounds passionate, and they sound like they love what they're doing.

.audiosport - Armed With My Guitar

About This Blog (Click)

Warning, an unscheduled post!  I have to admit, I'm quite impressed by .audiosport.  Most of the time I don't pay much attention to bands that since in a language other than english - and that isn't any different in this case - but the half of this album that isn't in German is absolutely superb. .audiosport (yeah, I really don't know what's up with that period before the name) provide a nice blend of very listenable melodic pop, punk, and soft rock.  I found that the nine english tracks were well worth my time.

Empty Promise - Conscience Today

About This Blog (Click)

Today's first album is an EP released by Austria's Empty Promise.  While they just released their debut full length independently, they've put their old EP, Conscience Today, up for free download.  It' a nice slice of sloppy pop-punk with a 90's skate-punk vibe.  Easily recommendable for fans of bands like Pulley, Ten Foot Pole, No Use For A Name, and so on.

The Hoodies - A Place On Solid Ground

About This Blog (Click)

Quickly!  Grab The Hoodies' free album while it is still up!  Absolutepunk.net has a sweet deal with the band that has them offering their album A Place On Solid Ground for free as an anniversary gift.  The deal expires on May 20th, so get it while you can.  I must admit though, I don't normally listen to this kind of pop-punk myself, but I know a lot of people out there love the stuff, and this blog is all about just getting stuff out there, so who am I to judge! (that's for my review blog...)

Big Head Down - Psychophonies From Nature

About This Blog (Click)

This album really caught me off guard.  With a band name like Big Head Down you don't tend to expect much, but Psychophonies From Nature proves otherwise.  These guys know how to channel a great Anti-Flag inspired sound that sounds feels all their own.  It's a meaty album at 14 tracks and 40 minutes, but it sounds fresh and original through and through.  Definitely for immediate download.

Sorry about the late update, my schedule's been super busy with my new semester, but the quality of this one should make up for my lateness - I hope :)
